Golf Course Maintenance - Groundskeeper 1

About the role

Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort is a AAA Five Diamond property known for its exceptional service. The Groundskeeper I position focuses on leadership, training, and communication, requiring a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Handle preventative maintenance of all equipment and update appropriate logs.
• Help lead the crew both on and off the golf course throughout the day.
• Absorb and communicate the "culture" of the department in behavior, work ethic, and appearance.
• Provide feedback on progress, staffing, material, and equipment.
• Make sure all tees and traffic stakes are properly placed at all times.
• Clean the golf operations facility every afternoon.
• Clean equipment.
• Ensure all trash is picked up throughout the course every day.
• Participate in resort work events.
• Be willing to work with little to no supervision and supervise in the absence of management.
• Show leadership skills and maintain open lines of communication with management.

Requirements

• Experience and knowledge of turf management practices as related to golf courses.
• Minimum of 5 years golf course maintenance experience and/or 2 years’ experience with a turf degree.
• Experience with golf course equipment usage and safety.
• At least three plus years of groundskeeping experience.
• Clear understanding of golf maintenance operations and machinery operation.
• Ability to lift 80 lbs.
• Work well with others and interact with guests and members on a limited basis.
• Able to work in a wide range of environmental and physical conditions.
• Adaptability in listening to instructions and following directions from supervisors.
