Golf Course General Manager
About the role
The Stillwater General Manager is the leader responsible for the overall strategy, performance, and guest experience of the golf course property, including golf operations, course conditions, clubhouse operations, restaurant performance, and event space utilization.
Responsibilities
- Leads the overall strategy, performance, and guest experience of the Stillwater property, including golf operations, course conditions, restaurant operations, and event space utilization
- Oversees day-to-day operations to ensure high standards for service, facility appearance, playability, hospitality, and event execution
- Manages the financial performance of the property, including budgeting, forecasting, revenue growth, and expense control
- Ledds and develops the property team, including key managers and department leaders, ensuring alignment across golf, food and beverage, and events
- Establishes operational goals, performance metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives across all departments
- Drives revenue growth through memberships, green fees, tournaments, outings, food and beverage, and private events
- Powers with senior leadership to set priorities, drive long-range planning, and position the property for future growth
- Ensures compliance with all safety, regulatory, and company policies and procedures
- Oversees vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and capital improvement projects
- Enhances guest satisfaction through service standards, feedback systems, and continuous experience improvement
Requirements
Comprehensive knowledge of golf course operations and hospitality management
Comprehensive leadership and team development skills
Strong financial and business acumen, including budgeting and P&L management
Solid working knowledge of food and beverage and event operations
Ability to drive revenue growth and operational efficiency
Strong customer and guest experience focus
Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to manage multiple functions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, hospitality, golf management, or related field and 5–7 years of progressive leadership experience in golf, hospitality, club, restaurant, or event venue operations, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- PGA of America Class A Member in good standing, LPGA Professional membership, or prior experience as a Head Golf Professional or Director of Golf
- Experience leading golf instruction, tournaments, golf merchandising, and player development programs is also preferred
