Responsibilities
- Assist with daily maintenance of the golf course, practice facilities, and clubhouse grounds, including mowing, trimming, edging, and general turf care.
- Participate in day-to-day grounds maintenance and help lead team members to ensure efficient and high-quality work.
- Assist with the training and onboarding of new hires, ensuring they understand procedures, safety standards, and equipment operation.
- Operate, clean, and maintain all golf course equipment safely and effectively.
- Perform irrigation system operations, monitoring, and minor repairs as directed.
- Apply fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, and other turf management products following safety guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor course conditions, identify turf issues, and report concerns to the Superintendent.
- Assist with setup and preparation of the course for daily play, tournaments, and special events.
- Support construction or renovation projects as directed by the Superintendent.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling chemicals or equipment.
- Maintain accurate records for chemical applications, equipment maintenance, and daily operations.
- Other duties as assigned to support daily golf course grounds operations.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree or coursework in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience acceptable.
- 2–5 years of golf course maintenance experience preferred.
- Experience with irrigation systems, mowing equipment, and general turf management practices.
- Current Qualified Applicator Certificate preferred or ability to obtain.
- Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Ability to follow instructions, adapt to changing priorities, and work independently in a hands-on capacity.
- Knowledge of turfgrass maintenance, pest control, and golf course setup procedures.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
- Ability to lift, move, push, and pull equipment or boxes up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work on various indoor and outdoor surfaces including grass, turf, etc. in all weather.
- Regular bending, pushing, pulling, and twisting throughout work duties.
- Regular work with mechanical equipment and turf management chemicals.
Background Requirements
- Requires a background check upon offer.
- Requires a drug test upon offer.
- This position requires a Florida Level 2 Background Screening.
