Golf Cart Starter/Ambassador

About the Role

The Starter at Wild Dunes Resort provides all players and non-playing guests with a welcoming, well-informed, and enthusiastic greeting. You will assist the Golf Professional in maintaining orderly tee time starts, enforcing the golf dress code, and monitoring golf course etiquette. Your thorough knowledge of the golf course and resort policies will help answer guest inquiries about facilities and services, ensuring an enjoyable golf experience for all.

Responsibilities

• Greet every golfer prior to the start of their round.
• Ensure all golfers have checked in at the golf shop.
• Provide information about the facility’s history, course details, and rules.
• Assist with enforcing the dress code policy.
• Monitor the pace of play on the course.
• Assist the Tournament Director with group events.
• Maintain a clean and welcoming course environment.
• Uphold the highest level of customer service in alignment with the resort’s mission statement.

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Must work well under pressure and follow instructions accurately, both verbally and written.
• Must be highly detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have excellent listening and communication skills.
• Must maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
• Must foster a teamwork environment.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must effectively interact with guests and colleagues and resolve conflicts diplomatically.
• Must have a passion for creating an exceptional guest experience.

Qualifications

• High school education required.
• Prior hospitality experience preferred.
• At least one year of customer service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of the game of golf preferred.

Working Conditions

• Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, cold, sun, and heat).
• Must be able to stand and walk throughout the day, including on uneven surfaces.
• Must be able to frequently lift, push, pull, and carry up to 10 lbs and occasionally up to 75 lbs.
• Must be able to bend, squat, and twist on an occasional basis.
• Must be able to perform simple grasping, squeezing, and repetitive hand and arm movements frequently, and fine manipulation occasionally.
