About the Role

This is a position in the Refinery for the Ore Processing department at the Round Mountain mine, an open-pit mine located in Nevada. The role involves training to advance through higher levels within the department while aligning daily functions with Kinross’ values. The schedule is a 7 days on, 7 days off dayshift rotation.

Responsibilities

• Wash Electrowinning Cells.
• Operate a furnace and pour Dore bars.
• Rebuild crucibles.
• Troubleshoot operating systems.
• Lift and carry equipment and materials up to 50 pounds throughout the workday.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety, environmental, confidentiality, and code of conduct.
• Meet or exceed established performance expectations set by management.
• Exercise discretion and judgment in job performance.
• Work safely without risk or harm to self and others.
• Maintain punctuality and regular attendance.
• Assist in developing other department personnel to perform the duties listed above.
• Perform other related functions as assigned by a supervisor.

Requirements

• Ability to walk over rough terrain, climb stairways, and platforms.
• Ability to shovel material in the refinery.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. frequently throughout the day.
• Ability to work at heights in excess of 30 ft.
• Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
• Willingness to train on other equipment.
• Previous Refinery experience preferred.
• Previous plant operation experience preferred.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• General understanding of process operations and limited understanding of maintenance operations.
• Working knowledge of PC software, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation tools.
• Strong verbal, written, analytical, and persuasive skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong administrative, organizational, and technical writing skills.
• Must meet the physical qualifications outlined in the attached physical demands sheets.
• Required to wear a respirator.
• Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Background check required.
• English language proficiency.
