About the role
The Goddard School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Childhood Educator to join our dynamic team. This position offers comprehensive training in our inquiry-based Wonder of Learning® curriculum, ongoing professional development opportunities, and a supportive, family-like small-business atmosphere.
Responsibilities
- Assist Lead Teachers in implementing lesson plans and daily classroom activities using the Wonder of Learning® curriculum
- Actively participate in guiding and supporting children’s learning, play, and exploration
- Help maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment
- Supportive positive communication with families regarding children’s daily experiences
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities while following licensing & Goddard Safety Standards
- Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities
- Work closely with Lead and support staff to create a positive and cohesive classroom environment
- Support positive guidance strategies to promote social-emotional development
Requirements
- A high school diploma is required
- An Early Childhood Education Associates degree is preferred
- CDA credential is preferred, or willingness to pursue an ECE Initial Certificate or equivalent as approved and verified in the electronic workforce registry
- Commitment to complete 30 hours of STARS training prior to start date
- Completion of Safe Sleep training prior to start date
- Current First Aid/CPR certification prior to start date
- Food Handler’s Permit prior to start date
- Proof of TB test clearance and MMR vaccination verification
- Ability to build positive relationships and communicate effectively with children, families, and staff
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs in connection with the care and supervision of children
