About the role

The Goddard School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Childhood Educator to join our dynamic team. This position offers comprehensive training in our inquiry-based Wonder of Learning® curriculum, ongoing professional development opportunities, and a supportive, family-like small-business atmosphere.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Lead Teachers in implementing lesson plans and daily classroom activities using the Wonder of Learning® curriculum
  • Actively participate in guiding and supporting children’s learning, play, and exploration
  • Help maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Supportive positive communication with families regarding children’s daily experiences
  • Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities while following licensing & Goddard Safety Standards
  • Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities
  • Work closely with Lead and support staff to create a positive and cohesive classroom environment
  • Support positive guidance strategies to promote social-emotional development

Requirements

  • A high school diploma is required
  • An Early Childhood Education Associates degree is preferred
  • CDA credential is preferred, or willingness to pursue an ECE Initial Certificate or equivalent as approved and verified in the electronic workforce registry
  • Commitment to complete 30 hours of STARS training prior to start date
  • Completion of Safe Sleep training prior to start date
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification prior to start date
  • Food Handler’s Permit prior to start date
  • Proof of TB test clearance and MMR vaccination verification
  • Ability to build positive relationships and communicate effectively with children, families, and staff
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs in connection with the care and supervision of children

Pay

$21.30 – $23.00 per hour
