GO virtual tutor (Fall 2026)
About the role
This is a part-time, virtual tutoring role for candidates based in select East Coast states who can commit to consistent weekday hours. You’ll work with small groups (1–4 students) primarily in math, so it's a strong fit if you enjoy engaging students online, have solid subject knowledge, and can stick to a fixed weekly schedule. Strong communication and reliability are essential—tutors are expected to proactively communicate schedule changes and consistently follow provided lesson plans to support student progress. Ideal for college students or those with some teaching/tutoring experience looking for steady, short daily shifts during the school semester.
Responsibilities
- Provide virtual tutoring to students in Math and/or English Language Arts (ELA)
- Review lesson plans and instructional materials in advance to prepare for tutorial sessions
- Absess student progress and provide constructive feedback
- Utilize interactive and engaging teaching methods to enhance learning
- Maintain records of student progress and session outcomes (e.g., online tracking system, reports)
- Communicate effectively with students and parents via the online platform
Requirements
- Minimum: enrolled in higher ed or associate degree
- Technology Requirements: A computer with camera and reliable internet access, Quiet space with no distractions or background noise, Headphones with microphone capability
- Experience and Skills: Strong commitment to our students, Prior experience in tutoring, teaching, or mentoring is a plus, Strong subject knowledge in Math and/or English Language Arts (ELA), Proficient in using virtual learning platforms, online collaboration tools, and digital teaching methods, Strong communication and interpersonal skills, Patience, empathy, and the ability to engage students in an online environment, Strong organizational and time-management skills

Key qualifications include a laptop or desktop computer, reliable internet connection and a quiet work environment.

Benefits
- Training: $18/hr payment to be received in a lump sum after the completion of training
- Tutoring: $18 an hour for new tutors / $20 an hour for experienced tutors, $22 per hour for returning GO virtual tutors
- Payment to be invoiced every 2 weeks, with a 1-week turnaround in payment
- A perfect attendance bonus of $200 for tutors who attend all training sessions and tutoring sessions
Pay
- Training: $18/hr payment to be received in a lump sum after the completion of training
- Tutoring: $18 an hour for new tutors / $20 an hour for experienced tutors, $22 per hour for returning GO virtual tutors
- Payment to be invoiced every 2 weeks, with a 1-week turnaround in payment
Schedule
- Fall 2026: Training (asynchronous & synchronous): approx. 20 hours in August, Tutoring: September through December, various blocks between 8 am - 3 pm EST
- Spring 2027: Training (asynchronous & synchronous): approx. 20 hours in January, Tutoring: February through May, various blocks between 8 am - 3 pm EST

Background Check
We are not able to accept mail in fingerprints and recommend searching for an IdentoGO location near you to confirm that you are able to get fingerprinted in-person. The initial cost, which typically ranges from $80–$180, is paid out of pocket by the candidate. Once the candidate has successfully completed onboarding and training and is officially scheduled to begin tutoring, the cost of the background check will be reimbursed in the candidate’s first paycheck.
