The Opportunity
Leland is building a marketplace where ambitious people find the experts and services they need to reach their most ambitious goals. The category footprint spans MBA admissions, management consulting, private equity, investment banking, product management, law school, medical school, dental school, college admissions, master's programs, PhD programs, executive coaching, leadership development, career coaching, AI strategy, GMAT, GRE, LSAT, SAT, MCAT, USMLE, and dozens more.
The Marketplace GM owns the full business, including supply (recruiting, vetting, activating, and retaining a high-quality bench of experts), demand (how customers find Leland and why they convert), and category expansion. The role also involves developing enterprise partnerships and identifying growth vectors.
What You'll Own
Expert Supply: Own the strategy for recruiting, vetting, activating, and retaining a high-quality bench of experts across every category, human and AI alike.
Customer Demand: Own how customers find Leland, why they convert, and how well they're served, understanding the acquisition funnel and optimizing conversion across categories.
Category Expansion: Identify where the demand exists, recruit the supply to serve it, and launch new categories with urgency.
Enterprise: Develop and grow the motion for companies deploying AI-delivered services for workforce upskilling and outplacement at scale.
What We're Looking For
Marketplace Operator: Understands two-sided markets, has experience owning a number and moving it, and is comfortable with data and metrics for a marketplace.
Commercially Sharp: Has owned a number and moved it, carries a quota, leads a sales or growth team, or runs a business where they were responsible for the top line.
Category Instinct: Has genuine respect for the goals of our clients and cares about getting them where they're trying to go, not just hitting a booking number.
AI-Native: Builds with AI in their own work, not just learning about it from the outside.
Your Identity
