About the role
The GM Certified Technician Shop Foreman oversees the service department, ensuring all work adheres to GM standards. This role involves leading a team, performing diagnostics, training technicians, and interacting with customers.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of technicians, providing guidance, technical support, and mentoring.
Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on GM vehicles in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
Organize and conduct training sessions for technicians on the latest GM technologies, tools, and best practices.
Inspect completed work to ensure it meets the highest standards of quality and safety.
Assist service advisors in diagnosing vehicle issues and providing expert recommendations to customers.
Schedule and prioritize repairs and maintenance tasks, managing workflow in the shop.
Monitor and manage the inventory of parts and tools, ensuring the shop is well-stocked and equipment is in excellent working condition.
Work closely with the service manager and other departments to streamline processes and enhance overall customer service.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
Qualifications
GM Certification or equivalent automotive technician certification.
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a certified automotive technician, with a focus on GM vehicles preferred.
Proven leadership and team management skills.
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with an in-depth knowledge of automotive systems, specifically GM models.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong customer service orientation.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and software.
