About the Role

General Merchandise Experts are experts of store process and efficiency who enable a consistent experience for guests by ensuring product is set, in‑stock, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. The team leads inbound, outbound, replenishment, and promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise (GM) areas, conducts inventory accuracy, merchandise set‑up and maintenance, and supports pick, pack and ship fulfillment work.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests while completing daily tasks.
• Engage with guests to help solve their specific needs and thank them for shopping at Target.
• Execute daily tasks assigned by your leader, including receiving products, restocking shelves, organizing the backroom, arranging merchandise, and putting up promotional signs for GM areas.
• Operate power equipment to move merchandise or store fixtures when certified.
• Change product prices, set up and maintain merchandise, and ensure inventory accuracy as directed.
• Learn how operational procedures affect inventory management, store profitability, and product availability.
• Be knowledgeable about store resources, products, and services to solve guest issues and improve their experience.
• Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance; work safely, follow safety policies, report hazards, and correct them when possible.
• Support guest services such as back‑up cashier duties and digital fulfillment processes (picking, packing, delivering pickup orders) while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local adult‑beverage laws.
• Perform any other duties based on business needs.

• Maintain focus and composure in a fast‑paced environment while handling multiple tasks within established timeframes.
• Accurately handle cash register operations as needed.
• Climb ladders, scan, handle, and move merchandise safely, including lifting or moving items up to 44 lb without assistance.
• Reliable and prompt attendance; ability to remain mobile for the duration of a shift.
• Comfortable working in varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements (e.g., drive‑up, carryout areas).

Pay

Starting hourly rate: $16.00 USD per hour.

Schedule

Flexible work schedule with varying hours, days, or shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and other peak shopping times. Reliable and prompt attendance is required.
