About the role

Working at Target means helping all families discover the joy of everyday life. The General Merchandise Expert team ensures product is set, in‑stock, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor, and supports inbound, outbound, replenishment, and promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise areas.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests while completing daily tasks.
• Engage with guests in a welcoming way to help solve their specific needs.
• Thank guests and let them know we’re happy they chose to shop at Target.
• Execute daily tasks assigned by your leader, including receiving products, restocking shelves, organizing the backroom, arranging merchandise, and putting up promotional signs for GM areas.
• If certified, operate power equipment to move merchandise or store fixtures.
• Execute processes such as changing product prices, merchandise set‑up and maintenance, and inventory accuracy as directed.
• Learn how operational procedures—setting up and organizing merchandise, managing stock levels, and maintaining sales‑floor areas—affect inventory management, store profitability, and product availability.
• Be knowledgeable about store resources, products, and services to solve guest issues and improve their experience.
• Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
• Work safely at all times; comply with safety policies, best practices, and training; report and correct hazards where possible.
• Support guest services such as back‑up cashier and digital fulfillment (picking, packing, delivering pickup orders) while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local adult‑beverage laws.
• Perform all other duties based on business needs.

Requirements

• Open to a flexible work schedule with varying hours, days, or shifts (including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times).
• Accurately handle cash register operations as needed.
• Climb up and down ladders safely.
• Scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, frequently lifting or moving items up to 44 pounds without assistance.
• Maintain reliable and prompt attendance.
• Work in varying temperatures, humidity, and other environmental conditions (e.g., Drive‑Up, carryout areas).
• Remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift (shift length may vary).

Skills

• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members.
• Ability to communicate on multiple‑frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment as directed.
• Capability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Quickly resolve guest questions on the spot.

Pay

Starting hourly rate: $20.00 USD per hour.
