Global Transportation Finance Paralegal

Duties

• Aid lawyers with all aspects of corporate, finance and GTF transactions
• Prepare and lodge/register charges, aircraft, ship and railcar mortgages
• Create and lodge corporate authorities and ancillary documents
• Communicate with opposing counsel regarding corporate authorizations and ancillary matters
• Collaborate with government authorities such as Ship Registry and the International Registry
• Proofread and check documents
• Verify conditions precedent and communicate with clients regarding these conditions
• Contribute to the consolidation and updating of know-how
• Handle Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) filings and related documentation
• Make International Registry filings and obtain searches on equipment and International Registry users
• Prepare or manage the preparation of closing bibles and post-closing documentation
• Manage physical and virtual data rooms
• Review, reconcile, and approve vendor invoices
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the lawyers

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in commercial lending/asset-based financing and transactional work preferred
• Familiarity with UCCs is a preferred qualification
• Knowledge of the International Registry is a plus
