About the role
Redwood Materials is looking for a Global Supply Manager to source and own supplier relationships, support new product development and manufacturing. This role will collaborate closely with engineering and manufacturing to execute our mechanicals roadmap. The primary scope of this role is injection molded plastics, stamped components, fasteners, connectors and harnesses.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end RFx processes — scoping requirements, issuing RFQs, evaluating responses, and driving supplier selection to award.
- Build and maintain should-cost models for mechanical components including plastics, stampings, fasteners, connectors and harnessing.
- Negotiate piece price, tooling, payment terms, and master agreements.
- Own the commercial relationship with key suppliers — tracking performance, managing escalations, and building the trust needed to move fast when it matters.
- Drive supplier readiness across NPI, production ramp, and sustained manufacturing while thinking about cost, capacity planning, and lead time management.
- Present clear recommendations to engineering and executive stakeholders.
Requirements
- Background in sourcing mechanical components with exposure to injection molding, stamping, harness assembly and managing off the shelf components like fasteners.
- Core understanding of manufacturing cost drivers for custom components and tooling.
- 1-3+ years sourcing experience in a similar role.
- Strong excel and spreadsheet skills.
- Strong project management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Flexible mindset and temperament. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally. Average 25% travel.
- Preferred Skills: Experience with custom part development, strong record of applying first principles thinking toward supplier negotiations, capable of managing successful escalations up to the executive level within a supplier, experience with MRP/ERP systems.
Qualifications
Required: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Relevant work experience in sourcing and supply chain management.

California Pay Range: $112,500 - $147,500 USD
