Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end RFx processes for complex healthcare and benefits programs.
- Negotiate commercial terms, service level agreements, and pricing models that drive value-based care and lowest net-cost outcomes.
- Partner directly with legal and privacy teams to draft, review, and execute Master Agreements, Statements of Work, and data privacy addendums.
- Ensure all vendor contracts strictly adhere to the organization’s risk, liability, and compliance postures.
- Serve as the primary procurement liaison between business teams, finance, marketing, and legal.
- Translate ambiguous business requirements into actionable, legally sound procurement strategies.
- Build complex “should-cost” models to evaluate vendor proposals.
- Conduct deep-dive spend analyses across the benefits portfolio to identify cost-avoidance opportunities, eliminate redundant administrative fees, and execute hard savings initiatives.
- Drive ongoing performance management for key strategic partners.
- Monitor service level agreement compliance, conduct quarterly business reviews, and manage high-stakes escalations to ensure vendors deliver on clinical and operational commitments.
Requirements
- 5+ years of strategic procurement, sourcing, or management consulting experience, with a heavy emphasis on the Healthcare, Pharmaceuticals, or Corporate Benefits sectors.
- Deep understanding of healthcare economics, including fee-for-service vs. value-based care models, self-insured employer dynamics, and health tech data privacy regulations.
- Proven ability to redline and negotiate complex commercial contracts.
- Strong understanding of legal mechanics including indemnification, limitations of liability, and order of precedence (Statement of Work vs. Master Agreement).
- Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, spend analytics, and ROI calculations.
- Ability to translate complex datasets into executive-level presentations.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
- Ability to navigate high-ambiguity environments, push back constructively, and drive consensus across diverse, cross-functional teams.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Experience negotiating with major healthcare carriers, pharmaceutical benefits managers, or digital health solutions.
- Familiarity with international benefits structures.
- Prior experience operating within a large, highly matrixed organization.
