About the role

The role of Director of Safety and Security involves overseeing comprehensive safety and security protocols across various facilities or organizations. This includes managing emergency response plans, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and maintaining a safe work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations and ensure adherence to safety and security policies.
  • Develop and implement emergency response plans and conduct regular drills.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to safety and security.
  • Manage risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Train staff on safety and security procedures and conduct periodic audits.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and other external partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as public safety, security, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role within a safety and security department.
  • Proven track record in managing large teams and overseeing complex projects.
  • Experience in developing and implementing safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or PMP are beneficial.
