About the role
The Global Scientific Communications Lead Rare Diseases (Systemic Mastocytosis) oversees the development and execution of the strategic publication, scientific communication plan, medical education, and training for two products in Systemic Mastocytosis. Responsibilities
- Lead strategic publication planning and execution, including the development of abstract submissions to medical and scientific congresses, posters, platform presentations, manuscripts, and journal publication enhancements.
- Develop scientific communications strategies and resources, including scientific platforms, lexicons, FAQs/backgrounders, and support content development for training.
- Plan and develop medical education content for live programs, congress symposia, online education, multichannel HCP education, field medical tools, slide decks, medical booth resources, and assets for omnichannel engagement.
- Collaborate with external authors and academic experts to drive execution of high-quality, relevant publications and medical education materials addressing educational and data gaps.
- Manage scientific agencies and work closely with cross-functional teams, particularly from Research and Clinical Development, to integrate scientific, clinical, and business priorities.
- Interpret and critique scientific and medical data with respect to scientific and business implications.
This role reports to the Director of Global Scientific Communications Rare Diseases in Global Medical Affairs at Sanofi.
Requirements
- Advanced degree in life sciences or pharmaceutical sciences (PhD, PharmD, MD, or MS) with 2+ years of relevant medical affairs experience.
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in the pharma/biotech industry, preferably in a global role.
- Experience working in a matrix organization and across teams is preferred.
- Ability to analyze, communicate, and present complex scientific and medical data.
- Track record of successfully developing peer-reviewed publications.
- Exemplary customer-facing skills and ability to collaborate with external Key Opinion Leaders on data dissemination strategies.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; experienced in making presentations.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a matrix environment.
- Experience collaborating with and supporting international medical and scientific teams.
- Knowledge of industry guidelines pertaining to data dissemination (e.g., CONSORT, ICMJE, GPPs) and interactions with healthcare providers (e.g., PhRMA Code, AdvaMed guidelines).
