Global Risk Summer Analyst Program - 2027

Program Overview

The Global Risk Development Summer Analyst Program is a 10‑week internship that introduces interns to Bank of America and the Global Risk Management (GRM) group. GRM is an enterprise control function that provides independent risk management, oversees governance and strategy for risk, and maintains relationships with key regulators worldwide. Interns receive a curriculum focused on the seven types of risk—strategic, market, credit, compliance, liquidity, operational, and reputational—to build a strong platform for launching their careers.

Risk Areas

• Strategic Risk – Risk to financial condition from incorrect assumptions, inappropriate business plans, ineffective strategy execution, or failure to respond to regulatory, macro‑economic, or competitive changes.
• Market Risk – Risk that market condition changes adversely affect the value of assets or liabilities, including price risk and interest‑rate risk.
• Credit Risk – Risk of loss from a borrower or counterparty’s inability to meet obligations.
• Compliance Risk – Risk of legal or regulatory sanctions, financial loss, or reputational damage from failure to comply with applicable laws, regulations, or internal policies.
• Liquidity Risk – Risk of being unable to meet expected or unexpected cash‑flow and collateral needs while supporting businesses and customers.
• Operational Risk – Risk of loss from inadequate or failed internal processes, systems, people, or external events.
• Reputational Risk – Risk that negative perception of the company may adversely impact profitability or operations.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or accelerated (4+1) degree program from an accredited college or university.
• Final graduation date between November 2027 and August 2028.
• GPA of 3.2 or higher (preferred).
• Common areas of study include, but are not limited to: Risk Management, Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, Accounting, Public Policy, Economics, Compliance, Business Administration, Political Science/Legal, Mathematics, Data Science, and other related fields.
• High level of intellectual curiosity, drive for operational excellence, and commitment to sustainable results.
• Strong academic and technical skills in Microsoft Office.
• Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, problem‑solving, analytical, verbal and written communication, and professionalism.
