Global Process Engineer - Tooling, Fixtures, Lifting
About the role
The Global Process Engineer (GPE) will work closely with the Global Manufacturing Engineering Leader, the primary focus area will be developing and deploying global standards that improve the reliability, availability, and performance of Aero Alliance’s manufacturing equipment and processes. They will analyze data, and work cross-functionally to implement proactive measures that improve processes. This person will also be responsible for cost reduction through standardization of equipment and processes, establishing standards, and ensuring adherence to these standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop tooling, fixture, and lift fixture process & equipment standards.
- Deploy global standards across the Aero Alliance factories, partnering with local factory technical leaders.
- Develop, qualify, and improve manufacturing processes.
- Define global process standards and equipment standards and deploy them across the Aero Alliance factories, partnering with local factory technical leaders.
- Define, control, communicate global processes for manufacturing assets, including: facility integration, acceptance testing, machine health checks & calibrations, preventative maintenance plans, spare parts strategy, technical & technology training.
- Validate engineering specifications and shop floor application of new processes. Including EHS, Manufacturing Engineers, Engineering, Quality, Materials, Industrialization, Materials, and Sourcing.
- Partner with channels on the development of new repair processes and qualifications.
- Develop and implement reliability improvement strategies using industry best practices such as FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Collaborate with maintenance, operations, engineering, and safety teams to design and implement preventive and predictive programs.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing equipment downtime and improve quality processes.
- Lead investigations into failures and chronic issues, identifying root causes and implementing robust corrective actions to eliminate the problems from re-occurring.
- Provide technical support for asset management, including equipment life cycle analysis and spare parts optimization.
- Train local factory manufacturing engineers to deepen their expertise in process and equipment.
- Participate in the design and installation of new equipment and implementation of processes, ensuring reliability is considered from the outset (Design for Reliability).
- Interprets internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services.
- Stays informed of industry trends that may inform work.
- Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational, product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering.
- Able to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders.
- Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and can construct and provide recommendations.
- Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
- Will lead functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college
- 7+ years of industrial experience in manufacturing or quality
- 5+ years of experience in a technical role (manufacturing engineer or similar) with expertise in Tooling, Fixtures, Material Lifting Devices and Fixtures
- Strong knowledge of engineering concepts and quality processes
- Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, drawings, and schematics
- Project Management skills and experience
