Responsibilities
- Develop and implement global price and market access strategy, aligning with payer evidence strategy.
- Matrix manage a cross-functional team to support global pricing and market access initiatives.
- Revise pricing and market access strategies and value stories to optimize life cycle management opportunities.
- Drive payer insights to ensure robust and validated price and reimbursement strategies.
- Develop price and market access inputs into forecasts and business cases, ensuring alignment across the brand portfolio.
- Create value messages and claims that meet payer needs and align with target product profiles.
- Monitor trends and dynamics in the external access environment that could influence current and future AstraZeneca access strategies.
Requirements
- Graduate degree in biomedical science, business, or economics.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or consulting.
- Prior oncology therapy area expertise, including oncology launch experience.
- Relevant drug development and/or commercialization experience within the pharmaceutical/medical industry.
- Knowledge of the needs and expectations of national and regional payers, insurers, and commercial customers in strategic markets.
- Several years of project leadership experience in generating payer evidence or developing/executing payer commercial strategies (e.g., Health Economics, Market Access, Pricing).
- Ability to make reasoned decisions under pressure and bring out the best in others.
- Excellence and precision in communication: credible and persuasive.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with clinicians, pharmacists, and payers on evidence-based customer solutions (e.g., local payers in the EU or commercial customers in the US).
- Experience in a commercial strategy function (e.g., managed markets brand director, business development director, head of pricing/access).
- Experience constructing payer value stories and incorporating them into Target Product Profiles (TPPs).
- Experience in a country or regional pharmaceutical role.
Pay
The annual base pay for this position ranges from $218,361.60 to $327,542.40 USD. Eligibility for various incentives includes short-term incentive bonuses, equity-based awards for salaried roles, and commissions for sales roles.
