Global Planning Lead
About the role
The Global Planning Lead role is designed for professionals with a background in logistics and supply chain who wish to transition from other industries to a 3M career. This position involves collaborating with innovative colleagues worldwide to drive strategic capacity planning, manage change projects, and support various supply chain processes.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support mid to long-term strategic capacity planning for responsible value streams.
- Partner with Business Supply Chain leaders to monitor and improve the capacity of key value streams globally.
- Participate in NPI, Portfolio, PIPO, and SOS change projects to ensure flawless planning execution.
- Support cross-functional activities related to the Plan, Make, Source, and Deliver pillars within the enterprise supply chain.
- Lead and support the development of level loading plans for supply, production, and material planning teams where constraints exist.
- Oversee the planning process for key value streams as assigned.
- Ensure planning process ownership and subject matter expertise as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (verified prior to start).
- Five (5) combined years of experience in Logistics and/or Supply Chain in a private, public, government, or military environment.
- Additional qualifications include APICS certification, experience working on international teams, and successful design and implementation of step changes in extended value stream performance.
- Experience in multiple supply chain roles such as demand, supply, production materials, and distribution/transportation planning.
- Understanding of advanced supply chain concepts and their financial impact.
- Strong analytical skills to understand and master complex optimization techniques.
- Experience in project management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Supply Chain, Operations Management, or Business Administration from an accredited university.
- APICS certification preferred.

Pay & Benefits
The expected compensation range for this position is $145,676 - $178,049, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. For more details, please refer to the Pay & Benefits Overview section on the company's careers website.
Work Location & Travel
This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN. Travel may include up to 10% domestic/international.
