Job Responsibilities
- Provide and manage the Alzheimer’s Disease-Down Syndrome Outreach, Recruitment, and Education (ADDORE) program to help individuals, families, and their communities maximize and maintain program enrollment.
- Use data to identify community needs prior to planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating ADDORE activities.
- Serve as a resource to assist individuals, other health professionals, and the community.
- Oversee research, outreach, and enrollment efforts across all eight (8) research sites, developing strong relationships with under-represented communities, building an online platform, and developing social media presence for the project.
- Maintain databases, mailing lists, and other information to facilitate the functioning of the program.
- Prepare and distribute educational materials emphasizing research findings, study goals, and patient enrollment benefits.
- Facilitate enrollment of individuals with Down syndrome in the Alzheimer’s Biomarker Consortium-Down Syndrome (ABC-DS) project through participation at conferences on Down syndrome and Alzheimer’s disease.
- Develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with principal investigators, data management professionals, and research staff to develop a registry program used to analyze enrollment data.
- Facilitate research findings and progress reporting to the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
- Document activities and record information, such as the number of participants, events and presentations, and persons contacted.
- Determine and implement ABC-DS eligibility and enrollment policies regarding issues such as patient disease severity/study participation eligibility, program requirements, and program benefits.
- Organize and implement training programs, direct the activities of, and evaluate ADDORE professional staff and program volunteers.
- Organize and host outreach events and community focus groups to foster relationships with underrepresented Down syndrome and Alzheimer’s disease patient communities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or equivalent in Social Work, Human Services, Communications, or related field,
- One (1) year of Outreach Coordination, Program Management, or related experience:
- Coordinating programming, outreach, recruitment, and engagement efforts;
- Enhancing enrollment of minority and under-represented communities in health-related programs;
- Establishing, developing, and nurturing relationships with under-represented communities;
- Developing and executing marketing plans;
- Planning and implementing large-scale events;
- Speaking at public engagements and in front of a diverse audiences.
