Global Opportunities
About the role
Global Opportunities at the University provide students with the chance to undertake international experiences such as studying abroad, overseas work placements, short summer trips, or volunteer placements. The dedicated Global Opportunities Team collaborates with global partners to offer mobility opportunities and support students throughout their journey.
Opportunities
- Study Abroad: A non-compulsory, competitive programme allowing undergraduate students to participate in a semester or full-year exchange. Students can experience different teaching environments, cultures, and lifestyles while studying at partner universities in Europe, Australia, Canada, Japan, the United States, and more. Availability depends on your degree programme—check with your School or the Global Opportunities Team.
- Summer Opportunities: Includes work placements, internships, summer schools, and international volunteering during the summer break. Opportunities are advertised annually for all undergraduate students and can be found on the Global Summer Opportunities page.
- Volunteering Abroad: The university partners with organisations to help students find volunteering opportunities worldwide. Contact the Global Opportunities Team for more details.
Funding
The Turing Scheme provides funding for international educational and training opportunities. Eligible students may receive grants to support travel and living expenses for opportunities lasting a minimum of 28 consecutive days between September 1st and August 31st. Funding is prioritised for students studying abroad or participating in university-managed opportunities and is subject to availability.
For further information and to apply for funding, contact GO@lincoln.ac.uk.

Student Experiences
"Doing study abroad was the best decision I ever made. It made me learn lots of life skills. Having to adapt to a different culture and climate was testing at times but rewarding. The friends I made out there will be friends for life."
