About the role

The Global Network Operations NOC Lead oversees network configuration, maintenance, monitoring, and service restoration across a heterogeneous, multi-platform environment. Reporting to the NOC Supervisor, this role analyzes network events, identifies trends, coordinates corrective actions, and provides technical support to Network Analysts and NOC Technicians. The position uses network monitoring systems to evaluate performance, resolve service impairments, and communicate status and direction to internal teams, external vendors, and customers. This role helps maintain network stability and reliability by meeting SLA expectations and ensuring accurate documentation and timely incident resolution.

Location: Melville, NY; West Henrietta, NY; or Doral, FL
Work Type: Hybrid - 3 days in office / 2 days remote

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the configuration, layout, maintenance, and operational performance of the network across multiple platforms.
  • Thoroughly investigate and analyze network infrastructure to determine the root cause of service impairments.
  • Plan, validate, and execute corrective measures on optical and data networks in a timely fashion, meeting or exceeding SLA guidelines.
  • Analyze network events, identify operational trends, and provide technical feedback and support to the Network Operations Center.
  • Research and evaluate network performance through network management systems and recommend corrective actions where applicable.
  • Ensure internal teams and leadership receive clear and concise ticket updates with regularity.
  • Provide peer-to-peer support for Network Analysts and NOC Technicians.
  • Demonstrate proficient handling of monitoring systems, including Netcool, to quickly identify and repair network events.
  • Coordinate corrective actions with internal departments, external vendors, and the NOC team.
  • Maintain accurate network documentation and performance metrics for the deployed infrastructure.
  • Draft and conduct change management events as needed following network troubleshooting.
  • Communicate with customers to provide technical support, status updates, and direction for ongoing initiatives.
  • Participate in rotational holiday coverage.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University in computer science or related area required. Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements.
  • Minimum of three (3) years telecommunications experience.
  • Strong understanding of server administration and data center operations.
  • Solid understanding of network technologies and communications protocols.
  • Experience on Ciena, Cisco, Juniper, MRV, Infinera, and ADVA platforms.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with a commitment to maintaining accurate network documentation.
  • A strong sense of ownership and dedication to ensuring customer network stability and reliability.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Pay

The base range for this contract position is $25 - $35 per hour, depending on experience. Pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
