Global Marketing Director, CVRM (MRA-SGLT2i)

About the role

At AstraZeneca, we are strongly committed to developing new therapies that advance standard of care in Cardiovascular, Renal & Metabolic (CVRM) diseases. Our ambition is to improve and save lives for the millions of people who are living with the complexities of CVRM diseases. We are now looking for a commercial leader to join our growing commercial team focused on our MRA-SGLT2i asset.

Responsibilities

  • Commercial strategy and planning to drive success across indications from Phase 3 through to launch
  • Shape product strategy with a tie to disease area strategies and insights (in CKD, T2D, HF)
  • Generate & use customer insights (patient, physician, payer) to inform clinical development plans and TPPs and to create differentiated and winning brand strategies
  • Support with objectively analyzing and commercially evaluating the emerging profile, competitive positioning, unmet need, pricing and market access, etc.
  • Support the development of evidence-based forecasts that are aligned with the target product profile and that credibly reflect a range of commercial potential
  • In collaboration with the marketing companies, develop commercial programs to drivers and address barriers to adoption at launch
  • Manage marketing relationships with agencies, vendor partners, consultants, and other third-party groups
  • Collaborate with CVRM Commercial leadership (and other team members) to deliver the global CVRM ambition, including successful product launch and Life Cycle Management plans
  • You will also have the responsibility for coordination across the franchise to ensure seamless integration across the different future therapeutic areas
  • Comply with AZ policies, standards and procedures in every interaction

Requirements

The successful candidate must be a strong strategic thinker and good communicator, with a specific appetite for shaping and implementing brand strategy in concert with global cross functional teams, market affiliates and external partners. In this role, you will also work closely with other Marketing Directors and cross functional teams for other pipeline assets within HF and CKD and shape the future in these disease areas, preparing the organization for outstanding global launches.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of commercial or strategic marketing experience in biopharma.
  • US specialists launch experience in competitive space.
  • Experience leveraging clinical data to shape brand strategies and lifecycle planning.
  • Strong working knowledge of forecasting, market research, useful insight generation, and competitive landscape analysis and interpretation.
  • Demonstrated experience in insight generation, positioning, and market shaping.
  • Experience from leveraging AI and digital to drive commercial strategy and operational excellence.

Skills

  • An advanced degree (MBA, MSc or PhD) is preferred.
  • Deep CVRM expertise.
  • Working across geographies and cultures.
  • Launch experience in multiple global markets.

Benefits

Annual base pay for this position ranges from $229,303 to $343,955. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles).
