Role Overview

Reporting to the Project Engineering Manager, the Global Maintenance Manager will work closely with in-country engineering teams, Customer Success Managers, Level 1 support engineers, Project Engineering, Systems Development, Product Management, Delivery and other business functions to ensure that maintenance activities are appropriately planned, resourced and executed. The role will not directly manage or control the engineering resources required to deliver maintenance activities. Instead, it will coordinate with the relevant functional and regional managers to secure the required resources and ensure that agreed maintenance commitments are delivered. A key objective of the role is to transition SRT from a predominantly reactive maintenance model to a proactive, planned and data-driven maintenance approach, improving system availability, reliability, customer satisfaction and lifecycle performance. The role is an overseas role across our numerous and exciting projects, requiring considerable time outside of the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain the global maintenance schedule for SRT's deployed systems and infrastructure.
  • Establish a structured preventative maintenance programme covering the full lifecycle of deployed systems.
  • Identify and define required maintenance activities based on: manufacturer recommendations and warranty requirements; system operating hours; equipment criticality and environmental conditions; historical failure data and system performance, along with known equipment issues and obsolescence; customer requirements.
  • Develop appropriate maintenance frequencies and servicing requirements for different equipment types and system configurations, ensuring maintenance activities are planned before equipment reaches a known service or failure point.
  • Maintain visibility of upcoming maintenance requirements across all countries and programmes.
  • Coordinate with in-country Engineering Leads, Field Engineers, Global Engineering, CSMs, L1 Support and other relevant functions to secure the resources required to deliver planned maintenance.
  • Develop maintenance requirements and provide sufficient forward planning to allow resource managers to allocate appropriate personnel.
  • Establish and drive a formal Preventative Maintenance Programme across SRT's deployed systems along with defining maintenance tasks, frequencies, acceptance criteria and required documentation.
  • Ensure preventative maintenance is completed within agreed service windows.
  • Identify recurring failures and maintenance trends and develop interventions to prevent recurrence.
  • Establish appropriate inspection and servicing regimes for critical equipment.
  • Identify opportunities to replace, refurbish or upgrade equipment before failure occurs.

Requirements

  • A strong engineering background, with the technical depth to lead in this role.
  • Significant experience in maintenance management within complex technical, engineering, defence, maritime, telecoms, infrastructure or similar environments.
  • Proven experience developing and managing preventative and planned maintenance programmes across multiple sites or geographically dispersed assets.
  • Strong understanding of asset lifecycle management, including servicing, inspection, repair, refurbishment, replacement and obsolescence.
  • Experience moving an organisation from reactive maintenance towards proactive/preventative maintenance.
  • Strong planning and scheduling capability, with the ability to manage maintenance requirements across multiple countries and competing priorities.
  • Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary engineering resources without direct line-management authority and the ability to work within a matrix organisation, influencing resource owners to prioritise maintenance requirements.
  • Experience coordinating in-country engineers, subcontractors, suppliers and specialist technical resources.
  • Experience developing maintenance procedures, service schedules, checklists, reporting and governance processes, along with strong documentation and reporting skills, with the ability to provide clear maintenance status and risk reporting to senior management.
  • Broad technical understanding of data centre and surveillance systems, buildings and facilities management and the infrastructure systems that underpin them.

Benefits

  • Highly Competitive Salary and benefits package
  • 25 days annual leave rising to 28 days with service
  • Real individual development opportunities
