Maintenance Manager

About the role

As Maintenance Manager, you will lead the site’s Maintenance function, ensuring equipment, facilities, and operations run safely, efficiently, and reliably. This hands-on leadership role involves overseeing reactive and proactive maintenance, managing planned schedules, and driving continuous improvement to enhance equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and support operational KPIs. You will mentor a skilled maintenance team, establish best practices, and foster a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and prioritize daily maintenance activities across equipment, facilities, and production areas.
• Oversee preventative maintenance programs, including TPM schedules, calibration, and follow-up on missed activities.
• Manage mechanical, electrical, and automation-related breakdowns to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
• Delegate work to the maintenance team based on skill set, shift needs, and project priorities.
• Support and manage maintenance-related projects, including new equipment installation, supplier coordination, and contractor management.
• Prepare and manage the maintenance budget, including material spending, forecasts, and capital expenditure proposals.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, ISO, quality, and company standards.
• Conduct or support root cause analysis, risk assessments, and corrective action plans.
• Lead, coach, and develop the maintenance team, including staffing, performance follow-up, and skills development.
• Monitor maintenance KPIs, report on progress, and identify actions to support continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with internal departments, suppliers, contractors, and service providers to support operational needs.
• Provide support for emergency maintenance issues across a 24x7 operation.

Requirements

• 5–10 years of progressive maintenance experience in a manufacturing or plant environment.
• Technical degree in Engineering, Automation, Electrical, Mechanical, or a related field preferred; equivalent hands-on experience may also be considered.
• Experience managing capital projects, including CAPEX planning, equipment installations, and supplier coordination, is an asset.
• Strong plant-level maintenance background with proven experience leading teams in an industrial environment.
• Working knowledge of maintenance systems and ERP tools, such as SAP or similar platforms, along with strong Microsoft Office skills.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, engage, and manage cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Schedule

10 hours/day, Monday through Friday, with occasional night and weekend support.
