Global Logistics Supervisor

About the role

Urschel, a 100% employee‑owned company, is seeking a Global Logistics Supervisor to join the Customer Operations team. Reporting to the Customer Operations Manager, the Global Logistics Supervisor oversees domestic and international logistics activities and supports the effective execution of Urschel’s trade compliance program. This position is on‑site at the corporate headquarters in Chesterton, Indiana and is not remote.

Responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day domestic and international shipping activities, including LTL, FTL, and international small‑parcel shipments, ensuring accurate, efficient, and timely execution.
• Ensure established trade compliance requirements are consistently followed, escalating matters requiring interpretation or policy decisions as appropriate.
• Serve as an escalation point for transportation, documentation, customs, carrier, and shipment‑related issues, including damaged or lost shipment claims.
• Monitor operational performance and proactively identify and implement opportunities to improve processes, service levels, efficiency, and overall effectiveness.

Requirements

• Experience in logistics, transportation, shipping, customer operations, or a related field.
• Prior supervisory, team leadership, or demonstrated leadership experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, problem‑solving, and computer skills with attention to detail.
• Self‑motivated, proactive, able to take initiative, pursue improvements, and manage competing priorities.
