About the role
The opportunity is to join the Global Jobs & Skills Architecture Lead as a Global Jobs & Skills Architecture Consultant, Assistant Director. This role involves working on continuous improvement and maintenance of an enterprise-wide skills taxonomy and job architecture, collaborating with senior business leaders, Skills Management vendors, and Talent functions.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the global skills taxonomy at EY, ensuring accuracy and alignment with the EY organization's skills landscape.
- Utilize analytics to analyze skills attributes and support talent activities like career development, resourcing, and workforce planning.
- Identify and implement AI and automation technologies to enhance the development, maintenance, and accessibility of the global skills taxonomy.
- Work with the wider skills transformation project team to communicate and embed JSA requirements within new implementations.
- Lead reviews of the skills taxonomy and role/job architecture with relevant business leaders, managing downstream impacts effectively.
- Build relationships with key business leaders to ensure the skills taxonomy reflects critical skills for EY's business delivery.
- Anticipate skill gaps or new requirements, liaising with Learning & Development (L&D) Business Partners to address skills gaps or build capability.
- Contribute to the Global Skills strategy, aligning with Talent Strategy and Organization Effectiveness functions.
- Promote the importance of skills within the EY organization and serve as a leading voice on skills and careers across Talent functions and the business.
- Develop proposals for enhancing Global skills solutions and career experiences, ensuring appropriate consultation and business case preparation.
Supervision Responsibilities
- Define and implement effective skills and career solutions within the Global L&D team.
- Provide expert guidance to the wider Learning Impact, Innovation and Skills team on leveraging AI and communicating JSA requirements.
- Analyze and propose recommendations for change to global solutions, aligning with internal Global Talent governance processes.
- Drive continuous improvement of the skills taxonomy and job architecture, incorporating external best practices and internal stakeholder needs.
- Enable the rest of the L&D and Talent teams to use skills consistently across the L&D ecosystem.
- Manage downstream impacts of changes in skills and roles, working with multiple stakeholders across Talent and the business.
- Foster and maintain effective relationships with other Talent Function Leaders for consistency and alignment.
Skills and attributes for success
- Strong understanding of skills-based organizations and their contribution to high-performing organizations/workforces.
- Advanced knowledge of AI, automation, and agentic capabilities relevant to skills inference, tagging, matching, governance, and user experience.
- Deep knowledge of EY Talent operations, the Talent operating model, and organization structure.
- Excellent analysis and problem-solving skills, along with strong organizational and prioritization abilities.
- A proactive and pragmatic approach, agile mindset, and ability to deliver global operations and enablement services under pressure.
- Proven ability to influence and communicate effectively with Global and Super Region Talent leaders.
- Ability to use Global Technology and other relevant HR systems and tools.
Job Requirements
- Education: Degree level in a related discipline, with a higher professional or master's qualification preferred.
- Experience: Demonstrable experience in a closely related Talent or Consulting role, particularly in skills strategy, solutions, and performance.
- Experience with developing requirements, options, and recommendations for technology-enabled Talent solutions.
- Experience in identifying, developing, and deploying agentic AI at scale.
- Experience operating at a senior level, building and maintaining relationships with senior business and Talent leaders at Global and Regional levels.
- Experience managing a team to implement quality work at pace and resolve people issues.
- Experience assessing and scoping potential project/change initiatives and developing associated business cases.
- Strategic and commercial thinking, with experience working in fast-paced, demanding environments.
- Experience working in a flexible, hybrid model with a focus on in-person collaboration 40-60% of the time.
