Assistant Director of Architecture

About the role

The Assistant Director of Architecture Department oversees coordination with architects and municipal government departments, project planning, resource management, scheduling, team leadership, permit tracking, document management, quality control, and related duties.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates with architects and municipal government departments for communication, building program drawing, construction drawing, construction, and communication work.
• Creates and executes project work plans and revises as necessary to meet changing needs and requirements.
• Identifies required resources and assigns designers to execute the work.
• Develops and manages the project schedule.
• Provides organization, direction, and training of subordinate project team members.
• Maintains oversight of the progress of all design activities on a regular basis.
• Monitors and coordinates required permits with the building department and consultants.
• Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
• Monitors and implements the company's quality control and brand standards throughout all phases of each assigned project.
• Performs other related duties and assignments as required.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English is mandatory, Mandarin or Spanish speaking is preferred.
• Proficient in various design software including AutoCAD, Rhino, Revit, 3D Max, SketchUp, Photoshop, etc. (training and supplies provided by the company).
• Extensive knowledge of US architectural and construction practices, procedures, and techniques, as well as applicable local, state, and federal building codes and legislation.
• Ability to prepare and negotiate documents and drawings.
• Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications.
• Managerial expertise.
• Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including tact, diplomacy, and influence.
• Education and experience in architecture, with at least 2 years in the field in the United States.
