About the role
The Health & Safety Analyst assists in the development, implementation and maintenance of Celestica's Employee Health, Safety and Wellness Programs. This role supports the organization's commitment to protecting employee safety, health, and wellbeing.
Responsibilities
- Establish, maintain, update and improve health and safety standards, policies, guidelines and procedures.
- Identify areas for improving HS programs to mitigate risks.
- Day-to-day management of data collection and reporting, including EHS KPIs and site status reports.
- Maintain and monitor regulatory developments and leading HS practices.
- Benchmark standards and policies against common practices within the industry.
- Manage the development, communication, and implementation of new HS procedures, training, and initiatives. Monitor training completions for targeted topics.
- Organize and drive HS site conference calls, including scheduling, material preparation, and follow-up.
- Support site-level investigations and response for Health and Safety incidents, including Lost Time Incidents, Recordables, and Near Misses.
- Coordinate 3rd party EHS site assessments and audits, including RBA, ISO 14001, 45001, and 3rd party regulatory compliance audits. Drive corrective action closure for all findings.
- Summarize and analyze audit findings and recommendations and share with the Cls EHS network.
- Assist in developing training materials for site usage (one topic per month).
- Create and manage a database for site permits and approvals.
Requirements
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in an industrial / manufacturing setting.
- Strong communication skills - oral, written, verbal. Ability to effectively communicate within all levels of the organization, including the ability to devise and present training and education materials.
- Strong analytical skills and investigation skills.
- Emotional maturity to understand the impact, sensitivity, and confidentiality of EHS issues.
- Ability to prioritize competing requirements with a strong sense of urgency and understanding of multi-jurisdictional complexities.
Qualifications
- Typical Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
