Global head of sustainability advisory

About the role

The Global Head of Sustainability Advisory at Watershed is responsible for leading a team of advisors and managers who advise sustainability leaders at some of the world’s largest and most influential companies on how to advance their sustainability programs and deliver business value. The role involves setting the team’s strategy, driving operational excellence, developing talent, and shaping the Services strategy.

Responsibilities

• Advising sustainability leaders at major companies on sustainability programs and business value delivery.
• Developing new advisory, services, and internal resources by translating sustainability trends and regulatory changes into actionable guidance.
• Partnering with Product & Engineering teams to embed sustainability intelligence into new product offerings.

Requirements

• 15+ years of professional experience, including 6+ years of demonstrated success leading professional services teams.
• Expertise in corporate decarbonization, gained through direct experience in the field.
• A track record of delivering impactful sustainability initiatives that delivered measurable impact and business value.
• Experience with key climate frameworks such as GHGP, PCAF, SBTi, ISO, and reporting frameworks such as CSRD, CCDAA, UK SRS AASB, ISSB, and CDP.
• Management experience, including managing both ICs and managers, including senior ICs.
• Ability to coach, hire, and develop high-performing teams.
• Energized by customer engagement and delivering high-quality customer delivery.
• Strong communication skills, able to articulate a vision, inspire confidence, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional peers.

Qualifications

• Willingness to work from an office 4 days per week (except for remote roles).
• Must be willing to travel up to 15% for regular office visits.
