Global Head of Payroll – Vice President / Senior Vice President

A leading technology firm in the alternative investment marketplace, managing $176 billion in global platform assets, is seeking a Vice President or Senior Vice President to join their Corporate Finance team. This role will focus on overseeing the global payroll function, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and scalability across all jurisdictions.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the global payroll strategy, operating model, and governance framework.
• Lead and develop a high-performing global payroll team.
• Own payroll governance, internal controls, and risk management.
• Manage relationships with payroll managed services partners.
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of all pay elements.
• Partner with Accounting on payroll accruals and financial reporting impacts.
• Oversee payroll aspects of equity compensation.
• Ensure correct tax withholding and timely payroll tax deposits.
• Oversee global year-end payroll reporting and filings.
• Manage payroll-related compliance activities.
• Serve as the executive escalation point for complex payroll issues.
• Drive payroll technology optimization and process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive payroll leadership experience.
• Experience leading payroll teams and operating within an outsourced payroll model.
• Strong understanding of payroll accounting and internal controls.
• Proven experience managing payroll implications of equity compensation.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar designation preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll-related reporting.
• Experience with major payroll platforms and HCM and ERP integrations.

Pay

Salary: $180,000 – $270,000
