Global Financial Services, Senior Solutions Architect
About the role
The Global Financial Services (GFS) team at Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect with deep Financial Services domain expertise and a strong track record in cloud and AI transformation. This role involves partnering with major banking, insurance, and capital markets companies to design and implement scalable, secure, and resilient cloud architectures.
Responsibilities
- Partner with customers to architect, build, and migrate applications, software, and services on the AWS platform
- Work with sales teams to develop and execute strategies that drive AWS adoption and exceed revenue objectives
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior technical leaders at Financial Services customers, influencing their long-term technology strategy
- Lead architectural discussions and design reviews, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, cost-optimized, and operationally excellent
- Develop and contribute reusable reference architectures, patterns, and best-practice content for the SA community
- Mentor and develop fellow Solutions Architects, actively contributing to team capability growth
- Act as a Financial Services thought leader through public speaking, written content, and industry engagement on cloud and AI adoption
- Conduct training sessions (one-to-few and one-to-many) to transfer knowledge to customers evaluating or already using AWS
- Provide structured feedback to AWS service and product teams based on customer needs and gaps identified in the field
- Contribute to organizational strategic planning, recruiting, and the development of team-wide initiatives
Requirements
- 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
- 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
- 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
- 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience
- Knowledge of AWS services, market segments, customer base and industry verticals
- Knowledge of cloud architecture
- Experience architecting infrastructure solutions using both Linux/Unix and Windows with specific recommendations on server, load balancing, HA/DR, & storage architectures

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $169,000.00 - $228,600.00 annually.
Schedule
This role may require up to 30% travel to meet with customers and attend industry events.
