Job Summary

The GES Senior Associate is responsible for developing, recommending, and implementing efficient and effective methods to maximize client benefits, particularly by decreasing clients' current and future taxes. The GES Senior Associate also executes tasks relating to taxation of equity compensation, deferred compensation, and individual and corporate income taxes.

Job Duties

  • Researches situations requiring research, outlines issues, and identifies appropriate research sources.
  • Analyzes researched facts and sources, and composes detailed reports of findings.
  • Assists with compensation planning and benchmarking for executive compensation models.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensures clients comply with applicable authorities, identifies options for minimizing compensation-related tax and reporting burdens, obtains required client information, and documents and organizes work product for review by senior Comp & Ben professionals.
  • Compensation and Benefits Consulting: Reviews SEC filings, survey data, expert issue briefs, and best practice guidelines to provide clients with creative approaches to compensation opportunities that promote shareholders' interests, monitors tax and regulatory changes, and advises on compliance strategies.
  • Strategy Development: Assists in preparing studies of market practices and tax/regulatory activities to identify alternative courses of action for clients, develops understanding of business objectives, and prepares studies of market practices and tax/regulatory activities to identify alternative courses of action for clients.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree required; focus in Business, Accounting, or Human Resources, preferred.
  • Master’s degree, preferred.
  • Two (2) or more years of prior work experience required; focus in compensation and/or strategic service consulting, preferred.
  • Certified Compensation Professional, CPA certification or other relevant certification, preferred.
  • Statistical software packages, preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word, preferred.
  • High proficiency in English, both verbal and written (including technical writing skills), preferred.

Education

Pay

National Range: $73,500 - $131,250
Maryland Range: $73,500 - $131,250
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $73,500 - $131,250
Washington DC Range: $73,500 - $131,250
