Key Responsibilities
- Advise executive leadership and business stakeholders on compliance risks, mitigation strategies, and regulatory requirements, positioning compliance as a proactive and integral part of the company’s growth
- Oversee global compliance operations, ensuring adherence to laws and regulations (e.g., anti-corruption, antitrust, AML, data privacy) and corporate policies
- Lead and execute the global compliance strategy, integrating U.S. and European programs into a unified program
- Develop, implement, enhance and enforce compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Conduct enterprise-wide risk assessments and report key compliance risks and metrics to senior leadership
- Lead internal investigations and ensure timely, consistent and appropriate resolution in partnership with Legal and HR
- Build and promote a strong culture of ethics and compliance through training, communication, and leadership engagement
- Establish auditing, monitoring, and third-party risk management programs to assess effectiveness and ensure adherence
- Support M&A activities, including compliance due diligence and post-acquisition integration
- Lead, mentor, and develop an effective global compliance team
Basic Requirements
- 10+ years of compliance experience, including: 5+ years within biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry, 5+ years in a senior compliance leadership role
- Demonstrated experience in global, matrixed organizations, proficient at collaborating across business functions, and performing roles independently with minimal direction
- Strong knowledge of OIG Compliance Program Guidance and U.S. Sentencing Guidelines
- Experience designing and implementing global compliance programs, policies, and controls
- Exceptional leadership, influencing, and relationship-building skills
- Strategic, analytical thinker with experience advising executive stakeholders
- Track record of driving compliance culture and program effectiveness in a global environment
- Bachelor’s degree required; legal background preferred
Position Details
- Role Type: Full-time permanent position
- Location: Onsite in North Carolina (relocation support available)
- Travel: International travel periodically
- Compensation: The salary range for this position is $220,000 to $240,000. This position is also eligible for a bonus.
