Global Commodity Manager - Metals
About the Role
Define, lead, and execute the Supply Chain Management (SCM) commodity strategy for Metals, including Metals raw materials, screws, rivets, fasteners, stamped parts, and magnetic parts.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and global implementation of the Global Commodity Strategy.
- Manage and maintain Suppliers Segmentation within the commodity.
- Participate on the Global Commodity Buyers Council.
- Conduct Key Global Suppliers Business Update Reviews (BUR’s) and coordinate global negotiations.
- Meet or exceed global Procure-to-Pay (P2P) annual performance targets for the commodity group.
- Schedule and lead Commodity team meetings to ensure communication and information sharing between all buyers, covering:
- Quoting activity
- Sourcing activity
- Volumes, forecasts, and allocations
- Commodity trends – risks and opportunities
- Supplier issues
- Global competitiveness
- Best practices for cost savings initiatives
- Best practices for supplier performance improvement (delivery & quality)
- Support and drive the commodity “Quality Sourcing Process.”
- Act as the market specialist for the Metals commodity basket.
- Ensure global and regional commodity sourcing maximizes commercial, supply, and technical advantages for Inteva.
- Lead and own global supplier relationship management.
- Resolve critical supplier issues as required (supporting PC&L, CIPM, CITs).
- Conduct or participate in annual Performance Management Assessments (PMA’s) on-time (Phase I, II, & III).
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of Procurement experience in a high-volume manufacturing industry; automotive experience strongly preferred.
- Minimum 7-8 years of experience in the respective commodity family.
- Bachelor’s degree required; business, finance, or engineering preferred.
- Previous global and cross-functional exposure.
- Strategic thinking and demonstrated strong leadership/management skills.
- Strong analytical and data analysis skills.
- Above-average proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work cooperatively, build teamwork, and influence others.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%.
- Comfort and ability to work in a matrix global organization structure.
