Responsibilities

  • Help lead the expansion of Semafor business from a twice-weekly business and finance briefing to a daily must-read

  • Write reported columns and analytical pieces with real point of view for a sophisticated audience of executives, investors, and decision-makers

Who you are

  • A proven, scoop-hungry reporter with at least 5 years of experience and a demonstrated track record of sourcing up on Wall Street, inside boardrooms, and private Signal chats— and a clear sense of where the next beat of a big story is heading
  • Someone who has developed a voice and smart takes on the biggest news in finance, and who can move fluidly between breaking a story and writing something authoritative and compelling about what it means
  • A comprehensive reader of the competitive landscape, always aware of what's been done and what hasn't
  • A self-starter with experience in fast-moving, ambitious newsroom environments and the willingness to jump in wherever the team needs you
  • A contagious passion for news in all its forms
