About the role

The Relationship Lending Group (RLG) at Goldman Sachs serves as a cornerstone in the firm’s relationship-based lending business. RLG underwrites, structures, executes, and advises on a wide range of transactions requiring the firm's capital commitment, including unsecured and secured revolvers, asset-based lending, borrowing base facilities, term loans, bridge loans, delayed draw term loans, and letter of credit facilities. These transactions cover primary loan syndication, refinancing, amendments, secondary market purchases, and bilateral lending. Team members collaborate closely with other banks' syndication desks, clients/borrowers, external legal counsel, and various internal teams like Investment Banking, Investment Grade Capital Markets, Leveraged Finance, Legal, and Credit Risk Management.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the execution of relationship loans
  • Manage the negotiation of loan documentation
  • Liaise with business teams on initial lending requests
  • Follow transactions through the approval process
  • Work on multiple simultaneous transactions at various stages of execution
  • Collaborate with multiple GS teams
  • Balance conflicting priorities and ensure significant issues are escalated to management
  • Manage and analyze loan portfolio
  • Produce ad hoc analysis and presentations
  • Create regular reports for senior management and internal constituencies

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Economics / Finance / Accounting related discipline
  • 2+ years prior financial services experience (including summer internships)
  • Highly motivated and adaptable
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in data analysis and presentation
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Accurate and detail-oriented with sound judgment and integrity
  • Experience and interest in leveraging AI applications
  • Keen interest in the financial markets

Qualifications
