Key Responsibilities
- Drive the day-to-day execution of private debt, direct lending, and leveraged finance transactions under the guidance of senior deal leaders.
- Cross-functional coordination: Coordinate with internal product groups (M&A, Sponsors, ECM, Risk, Legal, and Goldman's Credit Partners) and external counterparties to facilitate smooth transaction progress from origination to closing.
- Build, maintain, and own complex financial models, and perform fundamental credit analysis, valuation, and due diligence for leveraged financings and recapitalizations.
- Draft and prepare high-quality internal underwriting memos, credit committee presentations, and syndication materials (such as lender presentations and information memoranda).
- Serve as a reliable point of contact for private equity sponsors, private credit funds, and corporate management teams regarding data requests, modeling, and process updates.
- Assist senior bankers in originating new private debt and leveraged finance opportunities by developing pitch books, conducting industry research, and preparing relationship management materials.
- Assist in evaluating and structuring tailored financing solutions that align with client objectives and current market conditions.
- Supervise, mentor, and review the work of Analysts, ensuring high standards of accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with Goldman's quality benchmarks.
- Provide guidance and constructive feedback to Analysts on financial modeling, presentation formatting, and professional development.
- Actively contribute to a collaborative, high-performance, and inclusive team environment.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree and 2 years of investment banking experience; OR Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of investment banking, leveraged finance, or equivalent experience.
- Strong track record of executing Leveraged Finance transactions in an investment banking role.
- 2 years’ experience on deal teams.
- History of outstanding academic and professional achievement.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong quantitative and technical abilities.
- Personal integrity, initiative and leadership qualities.
- Capacity to interact and build relationships with a wide range of people and act as a point of contact.
