About the role

PSI (Public Sector & Infrastructure) sits within the Capital Solutions Group in Global Banking & Markets Investment Banking. PSI provides debt underwriting and advisory services for state and local governmental entities, public power and utility systems, transportation and mass transit agencies, higher education organizations, not-for-profit hospital and healthcare organizations, sports franchises, and other public projects. The group focuses on origination, structuring, and execution of a variety of debt, derivative, advisory, and public-private partnership transactions across the U.S.

This role assists in structuring, executing, and leading municipal commodity prepayment transactions. These financings combine extensive modeling with a need to be enmeshed in credit and interest rate markets, creating a unique opportunity to collaborate across many different financial verticals to benefit municipalities. This is a fast-growing sector in the municipal market, offering opportunities for rapid advancement.

Responsibilities

• Deep involvement in modeling, document review, solution generation, and client coverage for municipal clients.
• Collaboration with colleagues in commodities, credit sales and trading, investment grade underwriting, and industry coverage teams.

Requirements

• Strong academic record with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (required).
• At least two years of experience in financial services, preferably in the public sector.
• Drive, enthusiasm, creativity, and excellent stakeholder/client relationship management experience.
• Personal integrity, initiative, and leadership qualities.
• Strong analytical background with experience working with large and complex data sets.
• Strong communication (verbal and written), multitasking, and time management skills.
• Must be a collaborative team player.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with client coverage and execution of municipal or project finance transactions.
• Experience with debt structuring and capital markets execution.
