About the Role
Operations is at the core of Goldman Sachs, enabling business flow for every trade, new product launch, and market entry. The Operations team partners with all areas of the firm to deliver banking, sales, trading, and asset management capabilities while providing essential risk management and control. This role focuses on Business Intelligence (BI) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) within the Fixed Income Securities team, enhancing automation, reporting, and data analysis to drive operational efficiency and risk mitigation.
Responsibilities
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with stakeholders across Operations and Engineering, demonstrating strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Drive conversations with senior stakeholders to articulate business needs, identify root causes, and influence problem-solving.
- Ensure low-code solutions align with the firm’s broader technology architecture strategy.
- Advise on evolving solution applications while maintaining a view of the full low-code toolkit through solution design forums.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Develop automated solutions connecting upstream data sources to end-user platforms.
- Utilize established APIs and partner with Engineering to create new APIs as needed.
- Provide data analytics and risk reporting to enable data-driven decisions for stakeholders.
- Workflow Automation:
- Identify and automate manual, error-prone processes to mitigate risk and optimize resource capacity.
- Business Unit Management:
- Lead business intelligence programs for diverse stakeholders with unique datasets and business needs.
- Coach and mentor embedded specialists to meet strict governance standards.
- Contribute to evolving Business Intelligence and Artificial Intelligence risk and governance frameworks.
- Artificial Intelligence:
- Apply AI tools and prompt engineering to solve operational problems, improve workflows, and support scalable solutions.
- Partner with Operations stakeholders to identify challenges, define use cases, and translate needs into AI-enabled solutions.
- Design, test, and refine AI-assisted workflows to improve efficiency, reduce manual effort, and mitigate risk.
- Evaluate AI capabilities to enhance business intelligence, reporting, data interpretation, and decision-making.
- Ensure AI and low-code solutions align with the firm’s technology architecture and governance standards.
- Support responsible AI use by contributing to evolving governance frameworks.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or relevant experience in financial companies with a focus on data.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Finance and/or Analytics.
- Proven track record in managing multiple processes, functions, and driving change in an analytical or operations role.
- Experience with business intelligence platforms (e.g., Alteryx, Tableau, Qlikview, Power BI, Server/Database maintenance, Aqua Data Studio).
- Developer skills including SQL, Python, R, Machine Learning, AI applications, Jira, and Confluence.
- Familiarity with data and analytical tools, problem-solving, process improvement, and AI tooling adoption.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a global BI team.
- Strong ability to develop cooperative and constructive working relationships with a curiosity for understanding business needs.
