About the role
As the Global Assistant Merchant for Wilson Sportswear, you will be an integral part of the merchandising team, working to establish and build the global apparel and accessories business. This role requires exceptional organization and communication skills, with a focus on driving product strategies that exceed customer expectations and meet financial goals.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the Merchandising Manager/Merchant to define product strategies that exceed customer expectations and meet financial goals for the brand.
- Maintain merchandising tools (Centric PLM) to drive business efficiency and support product lifecycle management.
- Assist in building and maintaining global line plans and regional assortments in collaboration with the Merchant, adjusting in-season as needed based on business performance.
- Develop and maintain product education playbooks to support direct-to-consumer (DTC) and Wholesale teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity for timely product launches and go-to-market execution.
- Partner with site merchandising teams to ensure product strategies are effectively presented across PLPs (Product Listing Pages) and CLPs (Category Landing Pages).
- Own and communicate competitive research, especially as it relates to competitive assortment offerings and pricing architectures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising, Marketing, Business, or a related discipline.
- Intermediate Excel proficiency.
- Great product instincts – an understanding of sports, culture, and fashion and how they shape the lifestyle and clothing choices of young athletic men and women.
- Analytical thinking – a balance of both qualitative and quantitative skills.
- Entrepreneurship – ability to work effectively in a fluid environment and willingness to wear multiple hats, as necessary.
- Resourcefulness – self-directed and scrappy.
- Collaboration – demonstrated skill in building cross-functional and cross-cultural/international relationships.
- Demonstrated business acumen and the ability to apply sound business decisions to growing a global business.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), as well as collaboration/communications platforms like MS Teams.
Previous experience in the athleisure industry is preferred but not required.

Pay
A reasonable estimate of the pay rate for this role is $71,000 per year at the time of this posting. Please note that the rate details reflect the base pay only and does not include our competitive bonus program.
