About the Role

Responsible for delivering flight training in simulators and ground school in accordance with regulatory agency standards, CAE-approved curriculum, and customer requirements. Acts as a subject matter expert (SME) to lead clients through their training. After 1.5+ years, instructors may qualify as a Training Center Evaluator (TCE) and customer contract check airman.

Responsibilities

• Provides simulator, flight, or classroom instruction on one or more assigned aircraft types for licenses, type ratings, internal training, certificates, and pilot qualifications.
• Conducts pre- and post-flight simulator briefings in accordance with CAE standards.
• Completes administrative duties, including training records, recommending remedial training, and tracking instructional qualifications and activity.
• Acts as a subject matter expert (SME) in the creation of curricula and courseware when required.
• Complies with all company security and data protection policies, ensuring proper handling and marking of information.
• Must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.

A 2-year training commitment is required.

Requirements

• Hold or meet qualifications for an unrestricted ATP certificate and a minimum of one unrestricted PIC Jet Type Rating.
• Prior Part 142 TCE experience recommended.
• CFII/MEI experience recommended.
• Strong communication skills and a passion for teaching.
• Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, internet-based programs).
• Must participate in CAE’s DOT Drug & Alcohol testing program.
• Experience flying business aircraft is a plus.
• Professional character with the ability to create a welcoming and successful learning environment.
• Effective communication skills, both spoken and written, across multiple levels.
• Commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
• Ability to tailor training sessions to diverse customer needs.
• Attention to detail for maintaining accurate and timely records per CAE policy and FAA requirements.
• Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.

Work Environment

• Domestic and international travel as required.
• Must be able to walk, climb stairs, and access simulator or airplane cockpits.
• May need to stoop, bend, or crawl on machinery.
• Ability to detect odors, noises, or other sensory cues to identify simulator issues.
• Works in office environments using computers, telephones, and fax machines.
• Physical stamina to maintain composure in airplane seats during aerobatic flight profiles while wearing a parachute.
• Exposure to risks such as electrical shock, moving mechanical parts, high-pressure hydraulics, extreme heat, airborne particles, and loud noises.

Physical Demands

• Frequent minimal physical effort such as sitting, standing, and walking.
• May require long periods of sitting and reviewing information on a computer screen.
• Repetitive motions of hands and wrists related to typing and writing.
• Extended working hours may be required as dictated by management and business needs.
