About the role

The Summary Rated Crew Member (AH64E Instructor Pilot) is responsible for monitoring the aircraft systems, diagnosing and eliminating any problems that may arise, and ensuring that all maintenance faults have been recorded and properly corrected. These duties will be performed day and night as well as under VMC and IMC. This position supports the Army Advanced Helicopter Flight Training program conducted at Fort Rucker, Alabama, and includes both US Army students as well as a contingent of multinational students.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Monitor aircraft systems and diagnose problems
  • Eliminate problems and ensure maintenance faults are recorded and corrected
  • Conduct pre-flight and in-flight briefings
  • Conduct post-flight After Action Reviews
  • Write up logbooks and perform maintenance as required

Qualifications And Education Requirements

  • Previous designation as an AH64E Instructor Pilot
  • 5+ years operational military experience in the AH64E aircraft
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work overtime and any shift or day of the week

Security Responsibilities

  • Comply with all company security and data protection/usage policies and procedures
  • Properly mark and handle all information and materials, in any form
  • Not disclose information to unauthorized personnel or outside the company without management approval
  • Access and store all government and proprietary information electronically on company provided resources
  • Must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance

Physical Demands

  • Domestic travel as required
  • Walk, climb stairs, and ladder into a simulator or airplane cockpit
  • Stoop, bend, and crawl on top of or under training devices
  • Detect odors or hear noises, bangs, etc., or other sounds to detect problems or flaws in the surrounding environment
  • Distinguish colors

Work Environment

  • Regular office environment
  • Communicate via personal computer, telephone, and fax
  • Exposed to risk of electrical shock from moving mechanical parts driven by hydraulics under high pressure
  • Exposed to extreme heat, airborne particles, and loud noises consistent with an aviation facility, to include flight line operations
