This internship is a full-time, six-month commitment in the Glendale, CA area, running from January 2027 to June 2027. Interns must be fully available for the entire duration.
About the Role
The Systems Software Engineering team ensures that Walt Disney Parks and Resorts deliver happiness through Modeling, Simulation & Training.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of guest throughput attraction models
- Help build Hardware-In-The-Loop test beds for attractions
- Develop in-house tools built on the C++ and C# framework
Requirements
- Experience with Object-Oriented Programming, preferably C++ or C#
- Ability to troubleshoot and assess software errors and implement solutions
- Familiarity with continuous integration tools like GitLab
- Currently enrolled as a Junior, Senior, or Graduate student at an accredited college/university, earning a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related major
- GPA of 3.0 or higher (no rounding)
- At least 18 years of age
- Unrestricted work authorization
- Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program
- Compliant with The Disney Look appearance guidelines
- Able to maintain a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
- Fully available Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week (PST)
- Able to provide own housing in the Glendale, CA area for the duration of the internship
- Able to provide or have reliable transportation to and from work
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to take ownership and drive projects to completion with minimal supervision
- Professional demeanor, focused, articulate, and well-organized
- Familiarity with controls hardware
Pay
The pay rate for this role is $31.00/hour for undergraduate students and $36.00/hour for graduate students in California.
