About the role
Operates the glaze line and inspects tile at the largest manufacturer of tile and natural stone in the United States. This position is part of a close-knit team of dedicated professionals in a family-friendly work environment that supports work-life balance and promotes from within.
Responsibilities
- Monitors glaze line equipment or processes and reports problems to supervisor.
- Inspects tile for quality defects in the manufacturing process.
- Performs hourly quality control checks to ensure the tile is within specifications.
- Operates powered industrial trucks to transport glaze to and from the glaze lines.
- Follows operating procedures.
- Keeps area safe, clean, and organized.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
- Manufacturing/production experience preferred.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Good record-keeping skills.
- Good listening skills.
- Accurate measurement capability.
- Ability to understand and speak basic English.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms.
- Required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- May be required to sit, climb, or balance occasionally.
- May lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
- May be exposed to a wide range of temperatures.
- Noise level is usually loud.
