Glaucoma Ophthalmologist Opportunity (Associate Physician Diplomate)
Job Summary
This position serves the Department as a full-time Glaucoma ophthalmologist. A comprehensive list of duties and expectations will be outlined in an MSP Physician contract upon appointment.
Qualifications
- California medical license
- Board Certification Required
- MD (Doctor of Medicine) or DO (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine) required
- Successful completion of an ophthalmology residency at the time of appointment
- Successful completion of a Glaucoma fellowship at the time of appointment
- No minimum work experience required
Skills
- Comprehensive understanding of medical and clinical sciences across a range of specialties
- Familiarity with current diagnostic methods, treatment modalities, and evidence-based practices
- Knowledge of public health principles and infection control protocols
- Awareness of ethical, legal, and regulatory standards in healthcare delivery
- Understanding of hospital/clinic policies, documentation systems, and electronic health records (EHR)
Key Responsibilities
Hold an agreed upon number of Glaucoma clinics per week
Perform surgery as necessary within the appropriate scope of a Glaucoma ophthalmologist
Perform incidental instruction as necessary to residents and fellows
Perform administrative duties as required pertaining to the needs and expectations of a UC Davis Health physician
Complete the requisite administrative duties as required by UC Davis Health in the context of a member of the active medical staff
