About the role

Join our dedicated team in Unity Lab Services as a Glasswash Support Specialist II, where we provide seamless support tailored to our customers' unique needs. We’re seeking an organized individual to handle lab support operations, including glasswash, garment management, and gas/dry ice management. You'll be the primary point of contact for lab personnel, ensuring compliance and efficiency in all support activities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform specific tasks associated with labware operations, including precision cleaning, inventory management, quality control, and sterilization through autoclaving
  • Collect used labware/materials from various labs and ensure dedicated points of use are fully restocked
  • Partner with clients to understand their labware and material needs, providing timely support and ensuring stock availability
  • Follow well-defined procedures as outlined by Best Practices, SOPs & Work Instructions
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory and support activities
  • May perform other duties as assigned by management

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1+ year experience with material handling, customer service, or related field required
  • Good x Practice (GxP) environment or laboratory setting experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a safety-first approach
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance
  • Must successfully complete and satisfy Thermo Fisher’s pre-employment screening (including background check and drug test) and any customer-mandated screening, credentialing, or badging requirements

Environmental Conditions

  • Laboratory setting with some degree of PPE required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs, etc.)
  • Exposure to strong odors (chemical, lubricants, biological products, etc.)
  • Work with hazardous/toxic materials
  • Role primarily involves working independently at customer sites, which may include areas with chemical-based allergens like penicillin and tetracycline
  • Regular lifting of 30-40 lbs (up to 50 lbs occasionally) and using equipment like pushcarts and forklifts to move up to 100 lbs
  • Frequent standing, walking, reaching, and bending, sometimes in varied temperature environments
  • Overtime work may be necessary

Pay

$22.60 per hour. The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in California is $17.29–$28.81. This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.

Schedule

1st Shift, Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
