Glass Washroom Technician III (3pm-11:30pm)

This position provides maintenance support to the glass washroom production area at the Shirley, NY site. The role reports to the Maintenance Manager and shift supervisors within the Engineering department.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair glass washroom production equipment.
  • Set up and tear down essential equipment in the glass washroom.
  • Make routine adjustments to essential equipment.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on essential equipment and systems.
  • Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair of equipment and systems.
  • Assist the Engineering Department in developing and executing critical project-related activities.
  • Provide input and suggestions to operational execution teams for process improvements.
  • Perform basic repairs and fabrication of non-OEM spare parts (e.g., guards, dead-plates, transition pieces, rails, brackets, covers).
  • Maintain spare parts inventory and determine needs.
  • Maintain 100% training compliance.
  • Perform additional tasks/duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or trade school certification preferred.
  • 4 years of experience in equipment maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
  • cGMP and/or related experience preferred.
  • 4 years of experience in basic welding and sheet metal fabrication preferred.
  • Working knowledge of basic maintenance shop equipment (drill press, hydraulic press, bandsaw, grinder, belt sander).
  • Basic understanding of and experience troubleshooting PLCs and automated controls.
  • Ability to read documents in Standard English (SOPs, maintenance schedules, operating manuals).
  • Flexibility to work multiple shifts, holidays, and weekends as part of a multi-shift operation.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to sit, walk, squat, bend over, lift, grasp, hold, and stand for extended periods.
  • Physically able to wear cleanroom/protective gowning and equipment (gowning, goggles, face shields, respirators, protective gloves).
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Pay

Expected hourly rate: $29.52–$33.00. Actual compensation will be based on qualifications, education, knowledge, skills, and experience.
