Glass Shop Technician

Position Summary

LECO’s Glass Shop is seeking a Glass Shop Technician. The position is based at 1400 Hill Top Road Global Support Building in Saint Joseph, Michigan. The ideal candidate should be able to follow instructions, communicate effectively, and learn the glass blowing trade. Responsibilities include working with both Borosilicate and Quartz glass, operating various tools such as wet saw, hydrogen, natural gas, and oxygen, and learning about fire setup and bench work.

Position Responsibilities

• Become familiar with and follow documented procedures in the quality system
• Fabricate or prepare various glassware items and support parts on the bench and with the use of machinery (saw, lathe, and drill press)
• Inspect own work
• Inspect and package all goods manufactured in D-22 Glass Shop
• Complete the transfer of finished goods
• Perform material handling and inventory transactions on a mainframe computer terminal
• May perform training duties
• Work independently with a minimum of supervision
• Perform other duties as required

Education/Certifications
